Get Together

Get Together Festival 2021 is coming!

Less than 2 weeks until more live music returns to Sheffield with Get Together Festival 2021

If you’re like us you’re probably still coming down from the highs of Tramlines/Tramlines Fringe, what a weekend! After 16 months of lockdowns, tier systems and restrictions, being together, seeing faces smiling and watching live music felt euphoric. Thankfully we don’t need to wait too long to to it all over again!

The first ever Get Together Festival is set to take place on the 7th and 8th August (having postponed their initial dates in May due to COVID) at Sheffield Uni Students Union.

The festival have managed to pluck some of the best up-and-coming UK artists (alongside one notable legend) in this female-heavy line-up which is a breathe of fresh air.

If you’ve never seen Black Honey live, prepare to be blown away with an energetic live show where social distance will not be encouraged, get your dancing shoes on and embrace the good vibes that front woman Izzy and her Brighton bandmates will bring to The Foundry.

Feeling rusty? Don’t worry, all girl post-punk band Dream Wife will get you in the mood as they are sandwiched in between the headliners and The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess.

Sunday’s line-up is equally impressive, including T Truman (who you might recognise as The Vaccines keyboardist) as well as rising star and female powerhouse Billy Nomates but the highlight of the weekend will no doubt be local hero Self Esteem.

Self Esteem is Rebecca Taylor, formerly one half of folk-pop duo Slow Club, now fully fledged pop star. Compliments Please, the debut album released in March 2019 was criminally overlooked, but the follow up Prioritise Pleasure, coming this autumn, won’t be following rave reviews and exposure from the albums first two singles. Self Esteem don’t do low-key live shows, expect joy, fun and certified bangers.

Day and weekend tickets are available here.

The festival will be announcing guidelines that they will be putting in place for the safety of all shortly.
