2020 might have been a write-off for the hospitality sector but it certainly gave a lot of time to plan new creations as there seems to be more and more exciting openings coming up, one of them being Mong Ta, who we can’t wait for.
Mong Ta is all about truth and honesty, dishes cooked from family recipes, meals that wouldn’t taste out of place in the homes of Vietnam but elevated to restaurant standard without being overly fancy. They want to keep things real and simple where the focus is on the ingredients and the story behind the meal.
Expect vibrant small plates, flavoursome bowls of pho as well as noodle and rice dishes, not to mention the Vietnamese classic French-inspired sandwich, Banh Mi.
They have already opened up in London (just two days a week for lunch) at the English National Ballet so we have high hopes for their Sheffield opening.
