The past 12 months have been all about adapting to new ‘normals’, unfortunately Heist Brew Co. didn’t get chance to know what ‘normal’ was.
The craft beer brewery had packed up their stuff in their original home and bar over in Clowne, ready to move to a bigger spot in Neepsend. The move is still yet to finalise, the equipment is still locked in storage and the building looks nothing like a brewery and bar.
As timings go, lockdown for Heist couldn’t have come at a worse time. 2020 should have been huge for them, the bar should have been open in June, they should have been brewing then too, instead they’ve spent the past 12 months working out of metaphorical suitcases.
Adam and Dan haven’t put their feet up, living on government grants. Instead they’ve been doing pop-up events when they were allowed to, using other breweries to brew, building the new venue when contractors wouldn’t/couldn’t and hustled for loans and grants, just to survive. They are still yet to open (hopefully June) but they need your help.
The plan was to open Heist Brew Co. Tap which includes the brewery, two tap rooms, a burger joint and arcade last summer whilst employing 15 new members of staff. This year the pair hoped to travel the world, linking up with other breweries, spreading the Heist brand and taking Sheffield international.
The Heist Brew Co. Tap is opening this summer at 107 Neepsend Lane (next door to The Gardeners Rest).
