The Mulberry Bar and Venue

The Mulberry Bar and Venue owners announce that they won't be reopening

Today might be ‘Freedom Day’, a celebration of legal restrictions being lifted for the first time since March 2020 however they’ll be no celebrating at one of Sheffield’s much loved boozers.

At the weekend the current leaseholders of The Mulberry Bar and Venue on Arundel Gate in Sheffield City Centre announced that the past 6 months have been too much and they won’t be reopening.

It has been a tough time for all, particularly in hospitality where they’ve faced months of uncertainty, lack of clarity and loss of money.

A statement on Facebook reads.

After six months of stress and negotiating via our solicitors with the landlord of the mulberry, unfortunately financially and mentally we can no longer cope with the pressure and have made the decision not to reopen. We are sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the grand reopening.

We wish the new leaseholders all the best and hope they make it as great as we thought it was.

This isn’t the end for The Mulberry Bar and Venue but from the comments on Facebook, these guys will be well missed.
