Roundabout Music Theatre

The Musical Theatre Drive-In Live is coming to Sheffield this summer

Sheffield charity Roundabout have teamed up with some of Sheffield’s best performers for a day of live musical theatre at Meadowhall’s orange car park. The Musical Theatre Drive-In Live will be the first stage these singers and actors will have performed on since the start of the pandemic so you know that you’re guaranteed to be in for a great show.

The shows will have a full drive-thru experience to ensure safety measures are in place but that won’t stop the fun. Expect everything from Hairspray to Annie, We Will Rock You to Mamma Mia, Kinky Boots to The Rocky Horror Show, the day will see some of the most popular theatre hits come to new life in support of Roundabout.

Meadowhall, The Leadmill, Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Hallam University have all offered to help the homeless charity who’ve struggled to raise funding over the past year.

The event will take place at Meadowhall’s orange car park on the 12th June with four full performances throughout the day at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm.

Emily Bush, the charity’s Events Fundraiser said “Roundabout has been badly hit by the pandemic and to ensure we can continue running our services and be there to support as many young people as possible, we are looking to the future and creating events to help inspire both current and new supporters.

This is a true drive-in experience but instead of a movie, we are aiming for a fantastic display of live entertainment. Sheffield is a city that really supports the arts and we cannot wait to be able to bring theatre back to the city in a covid-secure way.”

Roundabout is strongly committed to preventing young people from becoming homeless and believes home is the best place to be if it is safe to be there. The charity’s Homeless Prevention Service offers advice and support to young people who are at risk of becoming homeless due to family relationship breakdown.

They support young people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness The charity works with more than 250 young people every day, providing shelter, support and life skills to help them gain independence
