Truffle Pig Kelham

Vegan chocolatiers Truffle Pig move to Kelham

Vegan chocolatiers Truffle Pig have just moved into their first unit, at Albyn Works in Kelham Island.

Lily and her partner Ian have been making their vegan chocolate for 4 years and they’ve seen a hobby grow into a business ever since. Having their own space will allow them to make more of the good stuff and eventually run chocolate making workshops.

Check out the Truffle Pig website to see what they do.

The excited Lily posted on Facebook,

“WE DID IT! WELCOME TO TRUFFLE PIG HQ!

After the incredible support from you all last week, some soul searching, number crunching followed by intermittent wobbles, excited squeals and finally overwhelming happiness we signed the lease on our first premises and got the keys today!

I can’t quite believe this is Truffle Pig. We started from nothing, except an obsession with vegan food, a love of creating and an intense desire to leave our jobs.

We had no business experience, no chocolatey backgrounds, we’re just a musician and a former civil servant living out our vegan dreams. If you have a dream, I urge you to jump in with both feet and don’t look back, it’s the best thing you’ll ever do. It’s scary, stressful and the hardest thing I’ve ever done but knowing we’ve got this wonderful community around us and such exciting times ahead makes my head spin in the best way imaginable. It needs some tlc and a whole kitchen fitting so we will be working extra hard to get it ready over the few weeks so we can reopen the online shop and hopefully keep it stocked for longer than 5 minutes from now on!

Thank you so much for making this happen. Thank you to Ian for putting up with my truffle experiments that Christmas 4 years ago and for leaving his job of 20 years to explore this dream of ours. Thank you to my family for never doubting any of my ideas, supporting and sampling at every chance. Thank you to my teammates and my friends who ate truffle after truffle giving me constant feedback on flavours and packaging and listened to me moan about the trials of tempering chocolate. Thank you to every single person that has bought from us, commented on a post, told their friends about us and to every small shop that stocked us and took a chance on a lil vegan chocolate gal from Sheffield. We will be posting all about how we’re getting on and when we will reopen the online shop. WE ARE SO EXCITED”
