Welcome to Sheffield! This year might be a little different to usual but there’s still plenty going on in Sheffield for Freshers Week with strict social distancing measures in place (all events will be seated with table service, track & trace and groups larger than 6 won’t be welcome). Behave or you might get thrown out.
Get to know your new housemates, the city you’ll come home for the next 3 years (probably more, you won’t want to leave!) and get a taste of Sheffield’s nightlife with events happening throughout the week.
With 2 universities and 60,000 students, Sheffield is a city for university life.
The Leadmill is one the country’s most iconic music venues, usually they’ll be having great gigs on (something to look forward to!) but you’ll probably spend a lot of your student nights on their dance floor too.
They are hosting Freshers Week events every night this week.
Kicking things off tonight (Monday 21st) with a throwing back to 2010. Expect mega tunes and 2010 vibes (full details here).
On Tuesday they are paying tribute to Abba (details here), on Wednesday they’ve Sheffield faves La Rumba bringing a club-focused experience (details here). Thursday is the night to get your Hawaiian shirts out, win some top prizes and have a proper giggle with Club Tropicana Bingo (full details here).
Friday night at the Leadmill is Everything New, enjoy all your favourite anthems with £5 rounds, we’re talking 1 x Shot, 1 x Jagerbomb, 1 x Vodka Mixer & a Cheeky Vimto! (details here). Sonic is a Leadmill classic, the weekly indie disco has been playing tunes for years, you might not be dancing on the dance floor but you don’t want to miss out on this one (full details here). Over at Corp, another favourite student hang it’s a Fresher’s special Monday Corp tonight with cheap drinks from 10pm – 3am (full details here). On Wednesday it’s Corp’s official Freshers Party (10pm til 3am) with tunes, give aways & comps (full details here).
Drop is a fave for Corp regulars with different rooms covering different genres through till 4am (full details here).
Into house and techno? Get yourself down to ONYX, Sheffield’s newest nightclub on Wednesday (either 10pm – 1pm or 1:30am – 4am) for beats all night (full details here).
CODE are launching their new weekly quiz on Thursday with drink deals and prizes (full details here) whilst BAR CODE launches on Friday promising to have the cheapest drinks in city (full details here) and on Saturday Record Junkee will be hosting a night of baseline 8:30pm – 12:30am (full details here).
