Freedom Day

Freedom Day - 4 things to do in Sheffield

Since March 2020 our lives have been interrupted with restrictions that we had never expected, it has been tough and the world will never been the same again (which might be a good thing!). Thankfully, it looks like all restrictions will be lifted on Monday 19th July (despite COVID-19 cases on the rise again but that kind of thing hasn’t influenced the governments plans during the pandemic…), a day that has been labelled ‘Freedom Day’.

Here’s 4 things happening in Sheffield after ‘Freedom Day’ that you haven’t been able to do since the pandemic came along.

Go clubbing at The Leadmill!

No social distancing, no face masks when you need a pee, get on the dance floor, it has been too long!

They are kicking off a week of parties on the 19th with their reopening party from 11pm till 3am. Get your tickets here.

Watch live music at Tramlines Fringe Festival

Gigs, remember them? Never again will we take them for granted and what better way to see a return to live music than the Tramlines Fringe Festival.

Tramlines might not be an independent Sheffield festival anymore but there’s loads of great independents putting gigs on for the Fringe Festival which takes place from the 23rd to 25th July across the city.

We’ll be updating our Tramlines Fringe Festival guide, take a chance, you might find your new favourite band.

Have a pint at Heist Brew Co. tap!

To say we’ve been looking forward to this place opening is an understatement. The brewery were moving from Clowne to their new space in Neepsend as lockdown was enforced and they faced delays ever since.

The finishing touches are in the works so that they are ready to open for Freedom Day with the bar of our dreams. We’re talking, 30 lines of craft beer, the best burgers in town and arcade games!

Pull an all-nighter at Bal Fashion Social

The Castlegate speakeasy has had a bit of makeover but it still has the same party vibes and they’ll be celebrating reopening on Friday 23rd with DJs spinning tunes from 9pm through till 5am.

Free entry before midnight.

Full details here.

Have fun but remember, COVID-19 is still out there…
